Borja Velón has been appointed Lenovo’s Director of Communication and Events for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Borja Velón joined Lenovo in 2005 and until now held the position of Director of External Communications for Lenovo EMEA . In his new role, he expands his responsibilities to lead the company’s external and internal communication strategy in EMEA, as well as the design and execution of pan-European events . Lenovo is the world’s largest personal computer company and a leading manufacturer of tablets, mobiles (including the Motorola brand), smart devices, and data centers.
Borja Velón will lead a large team of professionals whose main objective will be to transmit Lenovo’s corporate values and the company’s mission China Phone Number Database to develop increasingly intelligent technologies available to everyone , which have a positive impact on society. He started his activity at the communication agencies Llorente & Cuenca and Burson-Marsteller, joining IBM in 2001 as head of communication for the PC division.
He led the communication strategy after the announcement of the purchase of the IBM PC Division by the Chinese group Lenovo in 2004 , and throughout the transition process, becoming Lenovo’s Director of Communication for Spain and Portugal. following the creation of the new company in May 2005. He was a member of Lenovo’s international PR team (relocated to Beijing) in charge of executing the communication plan to maximize the brand’s visibility as a technology sponsor of the Olympic Games 2008, and has held various positions of responsibility in the communication area of Lenovo.
